I grew up wearing basic cheap hiking boots. Just wore extra socks to keep warm. Always worked for us.
I'm not sure where you live but here in WI that doesn't work, especially not when you hike a half mile to your spot with your stand on your back, your feet sweat for those 20 minutes, then once you get into your tree, that moisture meets single digit temps.
Mickeys are US Army issue boots designed for this sort of environment and will wick away moisture. I know a few guys here swear by Mickey's and they know which ones work best. Hope they see this.
