RE: Never hunted hogs, and i need advice
Try looking for wallows and then go back the next day between 12 and 3-4pm and try and catch them cooling down if that doesn’t work don’t worry I find that they like to lay doggo within 50m of the water usually under a bush in the shade.
One of the best tricks is to slowly stalk around there feeding grounds of an afternoon just walk very quite and stop very often and listen for the contented grunting of feeding pigs.
One point to remember is that pigs can only see 50m tops and about 30m with any clarity bet there sense of smell is outstanding. Don’t worry so much about cover but take frequent note of the wind and try both a scent eliminating spray and a cover scent, as it works well for me. I usually shoot pigs at 15-20m without them even knowing that I’m around.
