RE: New Remingtons
Remington 's 1100 were a terrific autoloader for years. Then in very late 80's their quality control slipped drasticly. Jamington would better describe the product (11-87's were the worst for function, 1100 were a bit better)they have put out since in autoloading shotguns and that's not even taking into consideration how poorly their chokes are regulated along with point of impact. For every one the functioned and shot properly three wouldn't. This time period I worked at a commercial range that used Remingtons and were able to see these problems first hand between range guns and people who came in with their own. In a span of 14 years figure something in the order of 25-30 11-87's and 1100 with problems. That's a whole lot of shotguns for one brand. Some even after repeated trips to factory still weren't reliable.
So it might look and feel good but I'd wait for a good trial period before putting my hard earned money down on what could be for all intent a paper weight.
