I owned both calibers at one point and enjoyed them both. I favor the .25-06 over the 257 Roberts though. It is much easier to find ammo and it is usually a little cheaper. I shot deer with both and in my small unscientific sampling the .25-06 seemed to produce better results. Either way you won't go wrong.
