If its from an auction site, I wouldn'tbelieve the 'new in box' either. Sometimes 'new in box' means that its been shot a thousand times, but the owner did a good job of cleaning it and kept all of the tags for it.

The stock looks dinged or chipped near where it meets the receiver also.
