Sorry I missed your question....yep my camera does exactly what you describe. It makes a very slight hum and then beeps twice to let you know the pic was taken. Don't know if you can disable that or not?
I have yet to break it out and take pics of deer around the stand.....I'm usually to rivited by what is going on and looking for a shooter that I zone out pretty hard.
