Default Saw a buck with a HOLE in its vitals!!!! pic

It just so happens that I'm the one who put it there!

Only got out for a couple hours yesterday afternoon, and decided to hunt a makeshift groundblind in some thick low pines adjacent to a thick bedding area that we scouted this summer.......the pines make a nice little route to a standing cornfield 100yards away. This blind is the ONLY way to hunt these pines, and we trimmed some nice shooting lanes 3 months ago which really paid off.
The blind is actually just a knocked over pine that I tucked in behind.....
He actually snuck in on my right even with my right shoulder before I even saw him it was so quiet in there....hunting treestands is fun, but if you've never taken a deer from the ground being eye level is a whole different experience!
He slipped slightly past at 10-12 yards and I nailed him at about 15 when he stopped in an opening. He only made it about 60-70 yards after the shot.
He was an unusual deer......appears very old, grey faced, big hung belly, and big.....the pic doesn't do him justice as he was a horse to move. The rack is a funky palmated 6 point with rounded tips and as you can see high brow tines, and the left brow has a palmated fork to it(you can't tell on the pic but the end of the right main beam is scooped out like a salad spoon......very unique. Really happy with him and proud of how he was taken. Although the story only takes a few seconds to tell, it was a great hunt.
I used a BowTech "Patriot" 30"/70# with a Carbon Express camo "Terminator Hunter Select" and a 4blade Rocket Sidewinder smack in the center of the lungs.

By the way.....sorry about the gore in the pic, I was trying to get a few pics quick before I lost light and didn't notice how bad it was until I got home and downloaded the pics. And for those of you who don't think you can take decent pics in the woods by yourself......I shot my pics using my CatQuiver leaned against a tree and the camera on top. Press the automatic shutter and run like heck!
