Bought my 9-year old son an 870 youth gun for Christmas(same gun with a shorter stock and 21 inch barrel). I bought a Primos Tight Wad choke from Ebay for $20.00. So far it shoots Winchester 3" #5s suprisingly well with enough head and neck hits to easily take a bird in the 30 - 40yard range. We won't be shooting at any birds beyond that.
