RE: dont laugh
KEL,
My best suggestion would be to go to an archery shop in your area and ask for some equipment assistance. Leave the checkbook at home, but take notes on what they say you need. Come back here, and the folks on the Board should be able to make sure you're not being "taken". Then, go back and get your stuff.
Also, if possible, join an archery club in your area. most have leagues and lessons available. Make full use of them.
Lastly, read EVERYTHING you can about bowhunting, and spend a lot of time in the woods learning animal behavior. If nothing else, it's very relaxing.
By the way, there's no reason to laugh. We all started somewhere, and women are every bit as effective bowhunters as men. Bowhunting's not supposed to be some "old boys club", it's a family passtime. As a side note, I know for a fact that my grandmother's killed more deer with a bow than some folks here. I don't say that to insult anyone, but rather to point out that gender matters not in bowhunting.
