Default Rem model 788

some of you remember the old "affordable tackdriver"--the remington model 788. my father-in-law has one in the 22-250 cal and i am now the only one to use it. the rifle shoots very well with rem express 55gr PSP bullets.

i washoping ifanyone knows the twist of the barrel of the 788? based on the serial #, therifle was made in1974. i looked that up on remington's website--however, they did not have any info about the barrel twist. it has a 22" barrel.

btw, it stills shoots real well with those bullets. this past deer season, between me and my friends, the rifle downed 7 does--all tight behind the shoulder shots. the farthest shot was 160 yards. they all ran off about 75-100 yards and died, butmostly NO blood trails (nature of the beast with small bullets--makes you a good tracker though).

i just wanted to know the twist so i could know how light or heavy ofa bullet i could use for diff. applications thanks
