You can switch to aerial photos with labels, but no topo. Good Site! Has a few reatures Google Earth does not, and vice-versa. Also use Microsoft TerraServer (you'll have to search it, I don't have the link), and you can switch from topo to aerial photo, but there is less labelling to help you locate yourself. Put these three sites together, and you raelly have something! All "free" (you have to put up with advertising).
