Patrick, it takes about a minute longer with my nut mod. Have to take it off, screw on the factory end cap and then disassemble normally. I don't like the notion of putting Loc-Tite on those threads so the lock-nut is a better way for me and doesn't look too bad, IMHO. Suppose it invalidates the warranty but like I said, about a minute.
