Bigcountry:

Sorry I did not respond to you earler I just saw the post last night.

I E-mailed the Sierra Bullet Techs, and asked them some questions about using .44 S&W Special brass in a .44 Rem. Mag. The questions are after the Sierra's Tech's answers:

Hi Frederick,
No, the 44 Special case doesn't grow. The bullet must bridge that 1/8" gap.

DO NOT USE 44 MAG LOADS IN 44 SPECIAL CASES ... EVER, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES !! PERIOD !!!
Those are good questions but heed the warning. It is very important.
Have a good weekend
Rich

> Hi Rich:

The .44 Rem. Mag. case is 1/8" longer than the .44 S&W Special case. When the .44 S&W Special case is fired in a .44 Rem. Mag. revolver does the case grow or fire form a whole 1\8" longer? If the case does grow 1/8", is the brass going to become very thin? If the case does become thin, is it safe to use that .44 S&W Special case in a 44 Rem. Mag. revolver using .44 Rem. Mag. data? I feel it would not be a safe practice using .44 Rem. Mag. data under the above situation. Under any circumstances is it safe to use .44 Rem. Mag. data in a .44 Rem. Mag. Revolver using.44 S&W Special brass? Thanks.

Sincerely,

Frederick Romero
