I dont think your goin crazy 308hunter, im sure i remember somebody had or borrowed a 50 bmg and was going to use it for a deer hunt. i say if you have the money and strenghth go ahead and shoot a deer with a 50 BMG , its a little overkill but so what. i shot a deer or two with a 458 mag.

P.Sthe 458 does in fact kick , it is controlable, and it dosent work very good on a deer with 510 gr. soft points.
