I used to raise a large amount of pheasants. I'd loose hundreds of dollars worth of pheasants yearly to owls and hawk.
I used to raise pheasants and quail, never had a problem with birds of prey, although my father did have a trouble with a great horned owl that took to eating the chickens right off the roost at night. We have plenty of RedTails around here, and lots of owls... our gamebird population is down but that is a habitat thing, farmland is dissapearing too fast around here.
