RE: Are the Weatherby's worth the money?
DRIFTRIDER,
IMHO, NO! I've been helping a friend with loads for his .30-378. The first thing I noticed was number of stamped parts. We got his rifle shooting pretty good and he took it on his elk hunt. When he came home I think I could have bought a Weatherby rifle real cheap. Climbing up a hill, the front sling swivel pulled out of the stock. He did get a shot at an elk, and that's all he got. A SHOT! When he tried to chamber a second round, he found the first case still in the chamber. Seems the extractor broke. He finally got an elk a few days later with a Remington M-700 BDL in .300 Win. Mag. He got it while still looking for the first elk he'd shot at. I don't care if the rifle is covered by warranty, I expect a lot more from a $1500.00 rifle.<img src=icon_smile_clown.gif border=0 align=middle>
