The hardest kicker I have is a 416 Rigby and it wears a Swarovski 1.5x6x30 Pro Hunter and has held up well over the years. My 375 H&H uses a Zeiss VM series and the 30-378 Wby Imp wears a Leupold, they all have served me well.
When it comes down to it, any scope can take a chunk out of you if you dont have proper form regardless of 3 or 4 inches of eye relief on a hard recoiling gun. I shoot so many different calibers, scope combinations, triggers (both pull and release) that I have to make a mental effort to know what I am about to touch off. I have almost been bitten a few times on the bench because of a mental lapse.
