hey cpl.... All I did was state the quality and difference between the two guns...I just dontprefer plastic on my guns thats all...I have (3) mossberg 500's(1) 835 and (4) 870's and all of them shoot the same for me (they all will do their job) I enjoy shooting everyone of them...the old mossberg 500 is a gun that I baught used and is a great truck gun for me. Im not sure how the trigger gaurdbecame broken on it, but it functions fine. (all 3)of my mossbergs have rattling forearms and everyone that Icheck outat gander mountain (that are new) (and used)have rattling forearms too.
I would never tell anyone that a 500 won't shoot straight or wouldnt be a good hunter. I told (everyone) of my freinds to get the 500 for their first gun because thats all that they could afford. At the range we all shoot the same and out in the feild we all bring home game (and thats what counts)
winchester model 12, browning a-5, remington model 11, remington model 10, remington model 17, remington 1100, 870 wingmaster
WHAT DO ALL THESE GUNS HAVE IN COMMON?1st- "they are all considered well made andsome of the models are the most saught after pump and semi-auto shotguns there are for collectors (because of there quality) "
2nd-they all posses steel contruction recievers, and no matter how you look at it (steel construction means better quality) when was that last time you seen atrap or skeet grade mossberg? believe it or not there is a reason for that.

trust me.
when a question is asked (which gun is better) I answered to which gun I thaught was better "quality" not the better hunter or which one functions better. why would a company even manufacture a gun that couldnt hunt. All guns can hunt,(THE REASON A GUNCAN BE ARGUED AS BETTER,IS NOT JUSTITS SIMPLE ABILITY TO HUNT OR (WORK FINE)BUT ITS THE QUALITY OF THE GUN ALSO)
this is just my opinion
