this really doesnt have to be such a hard issue. its partial name brand recognition, partial bias to what you grew up using, etc.

my hunting buddy has 2 870s one old and one newer, i really dont like using either one of them. i have a 500 and have never had any problems with them.

anyone out there come and look at my gun and tell me the forarm rattles.

as for tang safety, im lefty and its the way to go.

plastic triggergaurd - it wont break, for example glock pistols

aluminum reciever - see colt ligtweight, kimber etc, all make aluminium frames also, howabout m-16 / ar-15 aluminum .

its what you want as a consumer.
