Default RE: Rangefinder..?

I use the Nikon 440, It's a well built rangefinder and very accurate. However it could stand to be a little brighter in low light conditions. For now I can see right up to dark but as my 41 year old eyes age I canimagine where it might get tougher to see.

It's kinda strange comming from Nikon because there scopes are fantastic and you actually pick up more light through the scope as darkness fallsthan without. This is not the case with the 440 rangefinder though. That being saidI like it and still would recommened it.
I'm looking at the 440 vs. the Nikon 600. It;s about a 300. but if it works better than the 440 at dusk I'd be willing to spend the extra $.
Any 600 owners out there that can shed some light here?
