Default RE: DOES ANYONE HAVE A "SLING" QUIVER?

what he mentioned as a 'side quiver' is in all reality a hip quiver. Why am I poking,(sorry Mike<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>) becuase there is a quiver called a side quiver out there (lakota indian style or a raptor and a chief sidequiver, completly different)! I have one and will post a picture of it! I wear a back quiver 100% of the time at the range and small game hunting and hunt big game with the side quiver, before that I wore a bow quiver as a side quiver until I found a real side quiver I liked, before that it was bow quiver all the way. The bow quiver is nice for MOST situations but quite frankly I havent found one I have taken a liking to on my longbows. A backquiver, once you learn how to use it is one, super fast, two, can hold gear and a ton of arras! He is right, your BH's will rub on eachother, there is some simple solutions to this however. Wahya mentioned a couple, also have heard of folks making booties for there Bh's, also putting duct tape over there heads, supposidly it comes off somewhere in the shot, never understood it. That or you can tear it off before you shoot. (mine sounds noisy, after awhile ya get used to it, for still hunting I think the backquiver is tops, for stalking on the slope it STINKS LOL) For stand hunting a backquiver and side quiver kinda stink, I used my side quiver last fall in MN hunting from a stand and had to loop the strap over my fanney pack which was secured to the tree, that or you could use an extra step to strap it on with. I agree hip quivers dont have much place in my bag of tricks. I could never crawl effectivly with one, hated pulling my belt off to pull it of while dangling from a platform high up in a tree, climbing hills/mts and wearing a backpack the dang think would hit my frame with the arras.....it does work some, some will swear by it. Most will tell you a bowquiver is the simplest, I agree in most situations!

here is my sidequiver and a nice little 4pt I shot. well hmm...cant get on the stinking page LOL I will post it in a few....
