i agree with the 25-06 i just got a remington 700 sps and i love it. It is a nice flat shooting round with plenty enough knockdown power to kill deer. I have also shot pigs and coyotes with it.But i also agree with the.270 if you are going to hunt bigger game. then again i have heard of people successfully hunting elk with a .243 but i wouldnt.Just dont get that bazooka elephant gun .300 mag. that is way too big. good luck hunting next season with whatever you get.
