I think that lack of land and over hunted lands discourage young people to get into it. The ending real estate boom changed the Catskill region from quiet towns to booming cities. Most land that was unposted now have new yellow signs all over the place. The only thing I see young generation doing is riding ATVs all over the State land legally or illegally. Neversink Unique Area is perfect example. Last time I was hunting there, 15 kids showed up on quads , spooked everything and just when it got quiet again, other 4 showed up. There are signs everywhere “ No Motorized Vehicles” but hey they don't care. DEC told me to deal with it since they can't stop it.
