Finially getting around to firingthe T/C Black Diamond XR I got on sale at Cabela's last year. I've cleaned the barrel and charged the speed loaders but I'm wondering what the deal is with the 209 primers. I bought some Winchester 209 primers but they just kinda float there on the breech plug. If I tilt the rifle above level the primer slides off! I was under the impression that it would slide or snap into place. The rifle comes with No. 11 and musket nipples and has the 209 plug/seat installed at the factory.I'm sure it must be my inexperience with shotgun primers on BP guns so I would appreciate any guidance you might care to offer.
