Default RE: draw weight

Years ago I used to shoot mid 50's when bows only had about 20% letoff. As times passed and letoff became greater I eased into the upper 60's. The weight and vibration took it's toll over the years with the resultant cotizone shots, tennis elbow and such. I've become a lot wiser now and my testosterone levels have dwindled; bows have become much more efficient producing higher speeds with less weight. To that end I normally shoot between 53# and 58# now with pseeds somewhere between 250fps and 280fps, the 280 coming from my Martin SlayR set at 53# and 27" draw. Why pull more than is necessary to get the job done?
