RE: speed vs grain/lbs
Zorro, this subject gets a periodic beating.
The bows being built today there is very little advantage to shooting a heavy poundage bow.
Cam efficiency can and does make adifference andBrace height can be a factor. Draw length can be a factor.
But allowing 280 without a grain weight limit allows an archer with a slower set up to get into the 280's.
Tommy Gomez has a 28 inch draw length. I think Michael Braden's isthe same. They both shoot set ups that are in the 280's.
Speed might get you a line sometimes. But if you work on yardage estimation and accuracy as much as many guys do on getting more speed out of their equipment, I think we all will agree who would come out the winner most of the time in that comparison.
