Default RE: Texas Panhandle

I haven't hunted there but one of my high school buddies who owns a share of a hunting consultant agency is setting me up with a hunt on a ranch near Pampa-Gray County. He has shown me some pictures of some monster mulies they have taken on the property. I think one was around 34" wide and there were a couple of others over 25" with some real deep forks. Whitetail wise, his dad shot a 164" 8 pointer last year that was awesome. He also showed me another whitetail buck that the owner shot a few years back(mainframe 14 that netted 186 would have score over 190 but one of his tines were broke off) He said I could expect to see some whitetails in the 150 to 160 range and some mulies in the 160-175 range. Considering I have never shot a whitetail over 140" or a mule deer at all I am pretty fired up, now all I have to do is decide which hunt I want to go on. I think I am going to shoot a mulie since I have never taken one.
