I have both and I would take the .22mag anyday over the .17hmr. That little pill just isnt my cup of tea. I have shot manycoyotes with my deuce deuce and they fell over dead. The two with the .17 ran off to be finished later with another round.I chronyed my .22 and it was around 2200fps and the .17 averaged 2500 not bad but that is a 40gr .22 and 17gr -.17 . Like I said i'll take my .22mag.
