Default RE: Northwest Montana Spring Bear Hunt

I hunt and live between Eureka and Libby in the kootenai national forest.
The stretch along hwy 37 on the east side of lake koocanusa is prime wilderness. During the spring I've found that there up higher and don't usually come down to the lower elevations till the apples and dandelions come in. There is a lot of steep cliffs in this area making it primo cat country also. I usually chase bears from my yard every year and last year I had a huge cinnamon bear I encountered walking to my shop. I just threw a rock at it. I usually won't shoot one unless it becomes a nuisance.
Bring your fishing pole too as the state rainbow record has been broken several times below the libby dam. Good luck.
