Some of the coyotes have mange around the end of the summer. I Shot one off of my fourwheeler last year with a 22LR that was trying to get into our sheep pen so I chased it down and shot it. It was in August and it had a real bad case of the mange I didnt even takea picture. The call I was using on the first two pictures of coyotes is just a cheap cottontail distress. Everybody spends tons of money on these expensive calls where this $5 distress call works to perfection. I have called in and shot around 12 coyotes in the past 3 years with this simple call not to mention the coyotes that I couldnt get a shot off at. Lastly, we have a real problem with coyotes killing many of our lambs so we sit out in the pasture until we see eyes and then the chase is on usually it works out in our favor. But I also do some trapping on the coyotes when they come back to eat on the dead lamb that they killed the night before.
