Default RE: DE Bow Hunters Sound Off

Well, remember we were talking about Nov 9th?
Had about 5 does bed around me after first light, and 1/2 hour later a small 6 or 8 came in and started chasing, then a small 4 or 5 after that. The bigger buck knocked the 1.5yr old around a little, then went back after the does. The little guy stuck around, so a little while later he got the whuppin' of his life. The bigger buck had him turned over twice goring his belly, looked pretty painful. Every time I grunted or bleated the does all came running, but the thicket ended right in front of me, so they would look into the opening, and turn back into the thicket looking for the noise. I must have had the deer respond 10 different times, but the bigger buck never offered a shot. I passed on the little one, as well as a spike that came in behind me out of nowhere.
Finally the does scrambled out of there about 8:00. About 8:30, two more bucks came cruising through, first a small basket 8pt, then a nice buck right behind him. Hit him right behind the last rib, lodged in the off shoulder at 25yds. He only went 40yds. I had to wait for the small 8pt to leave, he never heard me shoot, and stayed for 45 minutes rubbing and sniffing the doe beds. Pretty cool morning, saw two fights, one serious, about 5 trees rubbed, 2 scrapes made, and heard about 20 different grunts.
He was a 3.5yr old 7pt, 18" spread, real massive rack, my best bow buck ever. It was actually in MD, but there's no MD thread, hope you don't mind if I stretch this into an "Eastern Shore" thread.
I'll be out Friday and Sat in DE, bow in hand.
