BSK, we feel that you are for the most point correct about the highly acidic soils. However we are finding that with the more shallow rooted plants like some of the ladinos that the liquid lime will do fine in the clat soils as these plants rarely root more than a few inches. Soil penetration of the lime to a depth of 4-8 inches is the most important...
Elsewise I think that we are all in sync (not to be confused with my daughters favorite singing group, bathroom sink) that the animals will move to the plant that will satisfy the missing nutrient in their system at any given time. There is no magic bean... The forages are good as the meat and potatoes of the food plots, but not the only end.
