My guess would be that the person who shot it expects to get it back from the processor when they collect their meat(unlikely) , or possibly the hunter wasn't a trophy collector .

Example: I'm strictly a meat hunter personally , I don't have a single trophy on my walls and never willsince they have no value to me . If I shot one like thatit would be because he crossed my path and Ihad oodles of summer sausage and cheese bologna which I do valueon my mind.I'd havesent the antlers to Cardeer for him to make lucky necklaces out of them ,or keep for his own collection if he wanted to. Everybody's different in what they value .
