No expert here but from what I've gathered here is the trend:

Take most of the shells taper out, and increase the shoulder angle. Like said about, this gives more case capacity, but it usually results in longer lasting cases if you're a reloader...and yes the beauty is that you can still fire the "standard" if you're in a pinch or to fireform your factory cases to the A.I chamber.
