Do you guys like that cheap extractor on Remington? Or the fact that you can't lock down the bolt? Are these features desirable to you?
I'lltry toadress several post made since my last one.
My 700's DO lock the bold down when the safety is on., and that "cheap" extractor has ALWAYS worked for me!! I can honestly say, that any load that wasn't "over loaded" or "improperly loaded"in the first place, has ALWAYS extracted just fine.
I've NEVER pulled a bolt handle off a 700 with my bare hands either, and i've never had a 700 fail to function or fire when i needed it to. I ALSO never had one "blow up splitting the bbl." AKA Ssko...
I hunted brown bears in Alaska for many years, (along with everything else) and 95% of the time i had a 700 Rem. in my hands. Do you really think that's the action i would have been useing if they ever failed me??????
Yes i've owned Sako rifles, (along with about everything else at one time or another) i also sold them, and i just can't see where they are worth more $$ as a hunting rifle... I like a fine looking rifle just as much as the next guy, maybe more? But, when i'm bear hunting i couldn't care less what my rifle looks like!!!
BTW, my .338 on a 700 Rem. action is stockedwith a really nice piece of english walnut.... It didn't make the bears any deader when i pulled the trigger though!
In the hunting fields, the Rems always worked for me, and i still can't see where spending more $$ for a Sako will put any more meat in my freezer. I sure don't care if others love them and buy them, he!! that's what makes the world go around!!! Your just going to have a hard time convinceing me that they are more reliable than a 700 Rem. when i've been useing them since i bought my first one in about 1970.... Some of you probable weren't even bornyet then...
