Default RE: Double-Barrel Blackpowder Shotgun

turkey hunting is a great sport. Hope you're back ishealing well. Congratulations on the bird and welcome to the forum. It's good to have new people. I personally bird hunt with a single shot smoothbore .62 caliber smooth bore. It is a 20 gauge but it will take a bird at 30 yards if you head shoot it. It will also shoot roundball reasonably well out to 40 yards. For bird shooting you drop 80 grains of Goex 2f down the bore the an over the powder card. Next goes down a fiber wad. On top of that I pour 100 grains of #6 shot and finally two over the shot cards (you only need one, but I always use two). Put a cap on the back nipple and let them get close. It makes hunting a lot of fun. With the new big snow today, I might go bunny hunting this weekend with it and see if I can spook up a snowshoe bunny.
