It's not uncommon at all to see bucks traveling together after the secondary rut. While bowhunting in early Sept. 1990 I saw three six point or better walking together.
We jumped five in a brier thicket three weeks ago running dogs. Deer are after all are social animals. The rut seperates the bucks but after that they're all one happy family again.
