All kidding aside, it is a personal choice that will vary bow to bow, hunter to hunter. This being said I seem to prefer shooting with a stab in the 7" to 10" range. Remember one of the reasons target stabs are so long are because the farther you extend that weight out from the grip the less torque you have. Of course a 30" stab just wouldn't be practical in a hunting scenerio. I like to find a stab in the range mentioned earlier and then take vibration control and sound dampening into account as the most important aspect of a selected hunting stab. For these reasons my personal preference is the GK Tranq with a SVL Module
