Default RE: What type of shooting rest?

I built my own out of an old trailor jack and some foam pad and duct tape. I built the stand out of some scrap lumber in the shop. It works good for me for a couple reasons..

The price was right.. I might have $5.00 in the whole works. It also is very portable and I have taken this back in the woods during season to a blind and set it up there. Sure makes shots easy because I have shot the same countless times at my range off the same equipment.

I can throw a sand bag on each side of the rifle for extra support. And I like to tinker so making one just seemed like the right thing to do for me.

I have been looking at a Caldwell Rock I believe it is called. I might get one of fthem. A friend is making me a bunch of custom sand bags though so we might try that first...
