After shooting for along time, you'll get scar tissue or something built up on your shoulder and you'll never notice the recoil much after that. The 94 I had did kick as much as my .308, but not nearly half as bad as my Yugo Mauser shooting surplus ammo. I shot about 1so rounds through my Yugo one day until finally I could take no more punishment. I ended up with a fat lip and the next day I had a bit of a black eye from all of the pounding I took.
