I'v been looking for a shotgun for a long time but have been between a Mossberg 500 Bantam 12-Gauge or a Remington 870. What do you think would be best for both Turkey and Other game birds? What length of barrel do you think is best for all game?
Remington® makes a great product,
you just get less for more money.
I feel the Remington® is overated like the Mossberg® is underated. I'm certainly not trying to offend anyone just furnishing my candid observation.
Mossberg® makes more pump shotguns than any other manufacturer. They offer a lot of value for the $$ spent; full set of choke tubes vs only one with the Remington (Express); a truly ambidexterous safety, a ten year warranty, etc.
Mossberg® guns ARE NOT CHEAP; RATHER THEY ARE INEXPENSIVE.
IMHO a 26" barrel would best serve your needs; not too long for turkey hunting, great for the uplands, & not too short for waterfowl either.
