Default RE: Mossberg 500 vs. Remington 870

Easy - Remington 870 Express

I got one of thefirst models they made back in the 80's. I have hunted hard with this gun for>20 years now and it has not misfired even once. I lost count of the number of turkeys it is responsible for but it is well above 25 and too many ducks to count.I clean this gun thoroughly after duck and turkey seasons, but other than just wiping it down after hunting in the rain that's it.

My father and I were duck and goose hunting guides in NW Tennessee and I've seen all the guns out there. The Remington 870 is my choice for a gun that is reliable, easy to clean (I can take it completely apart, clean it, and put it back together in less than 3 minutes), easy to aim and shoot, easy to cycle the action, etc. It just works every time with no fuss. I've killed turkeys with it from 5 steps to 55 steps, all with the Remington Turkey Extra full choke.
