Vanes don't age very well, I can tell you that. Here are a couple of robinhoods I've had hanging on the wall for the past 15 years. Fletches on both were in pristine condition when I telescoped them.
Feathers are still in very good shape after all those years while the vanes are dried up and flaking away. I've got some MicroFite arrows from the 60's, and the feathers on them are still in fine shape after 40 years.
By the way, in case you were wondering, that one on the right IS a 23/64" cedar arrow buried in the back end of a 2216. I was trying to figure out if cedar shot any different from aluminum at 45 yards. They didn't seem to.
