I don't have the choice of a sabot in Colorado. I am trying to decide between the Colorado conical and the 460 grain no excuses. Experiences on terminal efects on elk? I like the colorado conicals, but worry the HP design might be a problem with elk sized critters? thanks.
Hey txhunter58 I live in CO and just started out working up a new load yesterday. It is a 370gr. T/C Maxiball conical over 85gr. Pyrodex P with a Remington Kleenbore 209 primer out of my CVA Kodiak inline. It is probably the most accurate load to date and am fully confident it will take and elk. I have not taken an elk yet but have been trying for a couple of years. Hope this helps.
