I think ASAT and Predator have it right. Most of the Gucci-flauge stuff becomes a blob after a short distance because it is too graphic intense and not enough contrast between lights and darks. Deer see in black and white so you need good contrast to break up the outline. I have a link to a page with a crude and very elementary experiment, but I agree with him.
