I let an 8pt walk. His spread was about 1" inside his ears on each side. Sort of tall, probably average. Had him at 9 step broadside. I let him walk. Was tough, he would have been the biggest buck I had ever gotten. But my goal is a deer with a spread out past the ears. After that I will go bigger yet, but for now thats what I want. It was tough, and I think this buck may get taken anyway, but at least I am doing my part.
