RE: Best 270 wsm ammo?
At the velocities of the .270 WSM I would rather use the 140 grain accubond from Federal even on the smaller animals like the pronghorn. At such high velocities (3300 fps mv) the 130 grain ballistic tip could be a bit 'explosive' even on light thin skinned animals like the pronghorn and Fl deer. Where as the 140 accubond will keep its composure much better and still provide the shooter with excelent expansion and shock to the animal.
Due to the higher BC of the 140 accubond it should shoot within an inch of the 130 ballistic tip out to 500 yards and even beyond assuming you are at published velocities with both loads.
This factory load could easily be used on elk and moose as well with out ever missing a beat. IMHO it would be a perfect bullet to use on everything out of the .270 WSM.
