RE: New cartridge what do you think?
The .338-284 is a great round - but not very popular - really needs a long action to be able to seat the bullets out to where they should be. I have also played around with the .338-08. It is a neat little caliber - real easy to form (neck up a .308 with a tapered expander ball), not particularly hard kicking, and capable of delivering a big punch at short to medium distance. Great woods gun for elk, moose, and bear.
