Mine works good too. The attaching and security are 2 reasons why the moultrie is cheaper. It attaches with 2 shoe lace like strings with 4 little clips to hold them from sliding. Sounds bad but it actually works really good.

Security consists of 2 plastic loops on one side that goesaround another loop on the other side so that you could put a lock though it to keep it closed. Just cutting the lock or the loops would be easy to do.

I'm sure these things could be modified to ones likings but as is, isn't the best.
