I would just like to say that I do not think Tradition's attitude with this is right. That is not saying too much for customer service with Traditions. I think in a case like yours I would return the rifle to Wal Mart and tell them that the rifle is defective and that Tradition's refused to do anything on it.

The gunsmith is a good idea if you wish to keep the rifle. Good luck with it.
